To knit the rib of your vest, first chain the necessary chains to achieve the width of your vest, then knit a midpoint in each chain, for the third round you will knit the first midpoint in front of the previous point and the next one in front of behind, that is, taking the point in reverse of how you knit a half point, do this throughout the row.
